Catalytic converter warranty for a 2006 330i BMW?

Hello,

I have a 2006 330i BMW that has 72000 miles, the 'check engine soon' light came on, after taking for a diagnostic the computer says that the catalytic converter may need to be changed.

I understand that the EPA enforces a warranty on catalytic converters, how can I look for this regulation for this vehicle and how do I make BMW to comply with it?

Thanks,

It is probally a bad 02 sensor or something.Catalytic converter warranty for a 2006 330i BMW?The EPA requires auto manufacturers to cover all emissions related components (your catalytic converter qualifies as that) to be covered by a 10 year/ 100,000 mile warranty. If your catalytic converter is bad, then it will be covered under warranty.Catalytic converter warranty for a 2006 330i BMW?Chances are that the good people at BMW will not hastle you about this. But, you should clean out your IDLE AIR CONTROL VALVE and throttle body with Gum-out first, as these things actually can CAUSE a problem with a catalytic converter. Also, where you buy gas can affect this. READ your manual about emissions warranties. Hopefully, you are in compliance with the BMW maintenance schedule!!!
